Well-mixed cards are the goal for a near-perfect random deal in poker. Using the riffle technique, a 52 deck of cards is considered optimized after seven shuffles and ready to be dealt. Although fewer shuffles makes the deck less well distributed, additional riffles only marginally improves randomization.
