The 50th anniversary of the World Series of Poker ran from May 28 – July 16, 2019. The event has come a long way from its beginnings, in 1969, at Benny Binion’s Horseshoe Casino. It is now “the longest-running, richest and most prestigious tournament series” in poker. This year featured 89 various games. The Main Event World Championship paid $10 million to Hossein Ensan from Germany. He beat a field of 8,569 players to claim the title.
