The Tournament Bubble Dilemma

How do you play your stack as the countdown begins? You don’t want to be the
dreaded bubble boy, but what’s your goal? Winning the tournament should be #1
on your list. How? If you have a huge chip lead, bully the short stacks. On the
other end, short stacks need to be careful about getting blinded out; an awful
situation forcing one to expand their range. When I’m a mid-stack, I’ll fold all but
the top five premium hole cards. Let the others fight the battle. There are times
you can literally fold your way to the final table. The key, as always, is be patient
and understand how the others play. Bragging rights are great. In the money is
even better.
