Value Bet

A value bet is when you have a winning hand and bet to elicit a call
from your opponent(s). The purpose is to build the pot and get the
maximum from whomever you are playing against. When you have
the nuts or playing against a calling station, you size the bet for a call
and/or to keep them from folding. An exception might be playing
against an aggressive player by letting them bet and then check
raising.
