On a Heater

On a Heater – The term is used when the cards are going right for you; catching a one outer, hands holding up, and bluffs working.  It’s also called on a rush, on a roll or smoking.  It’s a mental thing that gives you a high; you seem invincible at the table. In actuality, each hand is not related to previous ones.  All are independent of past results.  A great quote, author unknown, is “Heaters can only be seen in your rearview mirror.”
